The Pearl is a novella that tells the story of Kino, a poor pearl diver who discovers an enormous and valuable pearl, which he dubs "the Pearl of the World." However, the pearl's allure incites greed, envy, and violence among the townspeople and within Kino himself. As Kino strives to protect his treasure, he faces escalating dangers that challenge his morals and threaten his family's well-being.
